The work proposes memory as a space of permanence and reconstruction in the face of displacement. Through the combination of painting and collage, the artist constructs a self-portrait that extends beyond the figure, as a fragment of a collective history marked by the absence of a physical home.
Between the visible and the erased, the materiality of the fabric and the layering reveal a process of identity formation in constant motion, where the pictorial gesture serves to reinscribe experiences of migration, loss, and reconstruction. Included in the group exhibition, the work challenges what remains when a home is torn from its territory — memory as a possible home.]
