["In Memory" is a work composed of ceramics used in religious worship, traversed by the marks of time and the sea, collected in the mangrove area of Guanabara Bay. Some of these objects are records of the Axexê (a funeral ritual), during which commitments to the Orixás are undone. The series, which is shown predominantly in circles, symbolizes the return and continuity of a sea that was once a forced passageway and also the Great Kalunga (graveyard), where many stayed behind. The work aims to sacralize and resignify images in which the black body is represented in a subaltern way by images of control that circulate in the collective imagination.]
