[The aluminum masks began in 2020, during the pandemic, when ANTi started making works with beer cans she found in her hometown, reflecting on what does or doesn't enter the interior of the state within this system. In 2023, when she returned to Rio de Janeiro and settled in the university accommodation at UFRJ (Ilha do Fundão), she started working with clothes donated and discarded by residents from different parts of Brazil and the world. With scraps from the garments he began to customize, these masks take on new layers and a stitched finish, presenting a more popular dynamism. The installation “É carnaval” arises from these particularities, exploring the diversity of life and its displacements in this territory.]
