[Through his proposal of “affective constructivism,” João Modé pays homage to the Brazilian constructive tradition by establishing a link with geometric abstraction. In his home-studio, the artist arranges textiles of diverse origins and natures according to an intuitive and organic logic. The result of this ongoing investigation, the work Vermelho demonstrates a sensitive connection to his own creative universe through a chromatic gaze. Configured as a field of color, the piece is composed of a frame that incorporates the vast sensation of red, while lateral elements open up subtle discoveries that converge toward the center, where an intentional hole breaks the surface; it is through this deviation that the eye travels across the interconnected details of its creation.]
