[The new body of work by Rodrigo Torres articulates, through the fragmentation and layering of forms and textures, a reflection on cycles of transformation, ruin, and permanence. Developed in Rome, the works investigate optical displacements and states of instability, drawing connections between natural processes of erosion, collapse, and regeneration and structures created by human intervention. Guiding the viewer’s gaze through different material and poetic layers, Torres evokes the fragility of human permanence in the face of nature’s inevitable processes, revealing a continuous cycle of destruction, containment, and renewal.]
