[Hybrid objects, somewhere between painting and sculpture, the works in the Labirinto series feature random geometric compositions generated by an algorithm that is, in turn, “hacked” by a sensor detecting variations in atmospheric magnetic fields. Manually reproduced by the artist using raw materials such as clay, jute, and minerals, these compositions serve as records of the interaction between nature, technology, and the artist, with the process ultimately determining the final form of each work.
More broadly, the artist’s work explores the continuity between tangible material forms and the invisible elemental forces that shape the world. Moving between the micro and macro scales, the artist balances an openness to chance and the accidental with a meticulous attention to form. For him, his works function both as catalysts and as agents of revelation: they are shaped by the reality around them while simultaneously exerting an influence on it.]
