[The artist describes "Maloca* da Fermentação" as a representation of the Mother of the Universe from a Tucano myth of the Upper Amazon, depicted with her first son, one of the lightning beings who descended to Earth and created humanity. She breastfeeds him, transmitting the knowledge she carries as the Grandmother of the Universe, while the surrounding beings evoke the transmission of memory and ancestral knowledge from mother to son. In the myth, she lived in a great maloca, a communal dwelling through which she transformed the world and the universe. In the work, the Mother herself becomes the maloca, embodying and sheltering the knowledge, memory, and cosmology of the Tukano myth.

Maloca: a traditional communal house that serves as a space for social, spiritual, and cultural life.]
