Os trabalhos selecionados para esta mostra constituem um recorte de uma pesquisa que Yara Ligiéro vem desenvolvendo há anos sobre o ambiente doméstico, suas funções e os sujeitos atribuídos a esse espaço. Ao reconhecer a casa como um lugar de trabalho doméstico e criativo, a artista cultiva um olhar que não se dirige apenas para o interior, mas parte da casa para pensar o mundo — de dentro para fora. Por meio da utilização de suportes como o pano de prato, Yara Ligiéro busca problematizar e valorizar as tarefas domésticas. O desgaste, inerente a um pano de prato velho e usado, interessa à artista por ser uma marca sincera do tempo; em contraste com técnicas clássicas que preservaram pinturas durante séculos, sua intenção é que as pinturas sejam vividas.

The works selected for this exhibition constitute a segment of a research project that Yara Ligiéro has been developing for years, focused on the domestic environment, its functions, and the subjects associated with this space. By recognizing the home as a site of both domestic and creative labor, the artist cultivates a gaze that is not directed solely inward, but departs from the house to think about the world—from the inside out. Through the use of supports such as dishcloths, Yara Ligiéro seeks to question and revalue domestic tasks. The wear inherent to an old, well-used dishcloth interests the artist as a sincere mark of time; in contrast to classical techniques that have preserved paintings for centuries, her intention is that the paintings be lived.]
