[Exploring his multifaceted practice, Pascale Marthine Tayou addresses themes such as mobility, cultural exchange, and the complexities of identity. In this new body of work, the artist continues his reflection and research on his African origins and the globalized world.

In Table Ronde, Tayou investigates the contradictory layers of global diplomacy, where the language of encounter often coexists with the persistence of historical asymmetries. The round table is not merely a space for dialogue, but also an archive of power relations that are reactivated under the appearance of consensus.

By interweaving flags within a circular structure, the artist does not suggest harmony, but rather the unstable stitching of a system that presents itself as dialogue while still carrying traces of hierarchy and control. The work highlights how symbols of international representation can operate both as a promise of sharing and as a continuation of a world order historically shaped by colonial expansion.]
