[In "Tie-Sangue", Vinicius Gerheim explores new artistic expressions, manifested in the wet texture of the empasto and technical traces left in the painting. In the process, Gerheim stamps the pictorial plane and produces textures in difference and similarity, guided mainly by color. This movement allowed him to rediscover elements from his childhood in Minas Gerais, surrounded by imagery and personal experiences.
The artist developed tools such as the stencil template and confectionery nozzles, which he made by hand. In this way, the pictorial field is filled with complementary colors, creating optical games that culminate in visually pleasing and rich compositions. In this process, which Vinicius likes to call “dance”, each color asks for its complement, and so the work is formed.
The elements emerge according to the demands of the painting itself, adapting to the shapes and colors it requires. This allows for the transmutation of what is represented: thunder can turn into a twig, a flower into a mouth, a twig into a snake, and a leaf into a bird.]
