A obra "Rape of Europa" do artista italiano Tiziano Vecellio ilustra o mito grego do sequestro da princesa Europa.

The work "Rape of Europa" by Italian artist Tiziano Vecellio illustrates the Greek myth of the kidnapping of Princess Europa. In mythology, Zeus, transformed into a white bull, convinces Europa to ride on her back and thus takes her to Crete, where she becomes the first Queen of the island and bears her three children. The painting depicts the princess's abduction, which takes place while she is enjoying the company of her friends by the sea. The image depicts male domination and sexual violence that are the protagonists of this story.
The colonization of Brazil saw what is told in the myth happen. The Portuguese invasion exploited natural resources and controlled the native population through their rape and enslavement. Physical and sexual violence was used as a tool to subdue and control Native and African peoples. It can be said that the oppression experienced in colonial Brazil also turned into a bull, through the resulting cattle trade, which to this day remains one of the largest in the country.
