A obra Os mortos não estão mortos aborda através da composição a ideia de que a memória de lutadoras e lutadores permanece viva tanto na figura feminina central com punho em riste, como na natureza – cadeia de montanha, céu estrelado e a energia solar e lunar. Nas 4 laterais da pintura, existe uma tentativa de lograr uma moldura para o quadro, usando um background de cores, plantas e fragmentos de animais que remetem a vida no hemisfério sul, mais propriamente na américa do sul.
Na primeira parte do tríptico está representado o Muiraquitã, amuleto utilizado na região norte do Brasil, criado por mulheres indígenas desde antes dos europeus chegarem ao continente americano. Esse objeto é tradicionalmente usado quando se ganha de presente e atrai prosperidade e abundância. Na terceira parte do tríptico, uma das obras mais significativas do artista Joaquin Torres Garcia “América Invertida”, de 1943, se sobrepõe a paisagem de estrelas e montanhas. A cartografia criada por Torres Garcia é algo reforçado nessa pintura, como um lugar onde se norteia pela cosmovisão e reconhece o sul global como região central de cultura.
The work “Os mortos não estão mortos” addresses, through composition, the idea that the memory from the fighters remains alive both in the central female figure with a raised fist, and in nature - mountain range, starry sky and solar and lunar energy. On the corners of the painting there is an attempt to achieve a frame using a background of colors, plants and fragments of animals that refer to life in the southern hemisphere, more specifically in South America. In the first part of the triptych Muiraquitã is represented, an amulet used in the northern region of Brazil, created by indigenous women before Europeans arrived on the American continent. This object is traditionally used when given as a gift to attract prosperity and abundance. In the third part of the triptych, one of the most significant works of the artist Joaquin Torres García, América Invertida, from 1943, overlay the landscape of stars and mountains. The cartography created by Torres Garcia is somewhat reinforced in this painting, as a place to guide worldview cosmovisions and recognizes the global south as a central region of culture.
