[Carved in layers of blue, sometimes deep, sometimes vibrant, the painting “Safira” emerges as an expanding reliquary. The precious stone is not an ornament, but a presence: a sensitive entity, a silent witness that observes and traverses worlds. Safira is the name that shines between the sacred and the sensitive, a mineral of ancestral strength, but also a promise of an invented future, where the body is living architecture and gesture is permanence.
Agrade Camíz weaves a visual narrative that fuses structure and desire, where the visible finds shelter in mystery. In “Safira,” her recurring elements -bodily fragments, geometric lines, layers of color, and popular signs- reorganize themselves like constellations, creating an intuitive cartography between the intimate and the ethereal. Like a guardian of shining time, she is body, home, and cosmos.
This work extends what has already been announced in the artist's previous series: the desire to reinvent landscapes from memories and everyday signs. “Safira” is also an enchanted territory, where everything that vibrates, from the concrete to the subtle, finds form, color, and footing. It sparkles like a delivery from another latitude, an expanded spell.
Between veils and layers, between gesture and silence, a stone is born and makes us inhabitants of the dream.]
