[In the research (De)Formação, Agrade Camíz investigates the circles that structure our social rituals, generational cycles, states, and bodies. In the abstraction Olho Nu (Naked Eye), the facture is guided by the image itself, which takes shape instinctively. The work proposes an expansion of the limits of artistic practice—of what can or cannot be represented—articulating connections that traverse subjectivity and new decodings informed by issues intrinsic to the practice of painting.
The painting unveils intimacies, establishing a state of contemplation before frankness: we are beings composed of multiple layers, personas, and social performances; fragments of time, hours filled with gestures shaped by the expectations of each sphere of life. Amid this entanglement, we connect with all of them—a “non-center,” a being that recognizes itself in everything. Something at our core propels what we truly are.]
