Ana Silva: Contemplação do vazio
Main idea
I started with the idea that emptiness is not absence, but potential. An expanding space, like the universe, carries within itself the possibility of creation, transformation, and lightness. Just like breathing—which expands and contracts—emptiness pulsates, resonates, and offers shelter to the movement of existence.
Between Silence and Thread
There is a silent beauty in nature—a time that does not rush, a space that extends beyond the visible form. This exhibition is an invitation to contemplate lightness, where the substance of the world is redesigned with threads, textures, and voids.
Embroidered Nature brings the physical act of embroidery closer to the breath of the Earth. Each stitch is a pause. Each line, a path opening up between the real and the eternal.
The surfaces, sometimes subtle and delicate, reveal space as the main thing: what isn't filled in also speaks, also vibrates.
In this journey, there is a dialogue between the micro and the immensity: the outline of an embroidered leaf carries the echo of a constellation.
The flower becomes the cosmos.
The fabric becomes wind.
The weave becomes time.
Here, the gaze rests.
The body slows down.
And the universe breathes between the threads.
