- Carlos Jacanamijoy
["I went in search of memories of my homeland, and I have one in particular: one day I came to a small stream called “Chaki mailla yaku,” the footbath, where travelers stop to refresh their tired feet. I went there to take off my shoes and dip my bare feet in the water. It was like beginning to renounce reason in order to reconnect with the senses, the instinctive, the vibrations, the feelings, the most hidden parts of myself. I had to answer for myself whether or not we still beat with the same sounds that our ancestors beat with, and I discovered that the geography and physical space had changed, but the intimate feeling had not; I felt it intact within me." - Carlos Jacanamijoy]
