Tenho explorado tensões de valor do suporte a partir da pintura. Do lixo ao luxo, do linho ao entulho. Desta forma, assimilo a dinâmica de minha vivência: morador Copacabana, mas entusiasta do skate e da cultura de rua. Convívio entre contrastes sociais. Subvertendo a nobreza do óleo e do linho, e equilibrando estes valores em suportes de origens desprovidas, como olhos de gato, sola de sapatos, isqueiros e outros achados ou acúmulos pessoais, gerando questionamentos sobre o lugar de pertencimento. São trabalhos que falam principalmente de pintura e de como ela se expande no espaço tridimensionalmente.

Chamo este grupo de "Whisky com Guaravita", pois quando mais novo, ao sair com amigos, eu enchia uma garrafa com whisky do meu pai e comprava na rua o mais barato para misturar que era um Guaravita. Uma mistura que possui contrastes de valor assim como as pinturas. Eles têm cores similares e a mistura fica muito melhor do que você deve imaginar (possivelmente perigoso beber muito).

I have been exploring the tensions of the value of mediums through painting. From rubbish to luxury, from linen to rubble. In this way, I assimilate the dynamics of my experience: a resident of Copacabana, but an enthusiast of skateboarding and street culture. I live between social contrasts. Subverting the nobility of oil and linen, and balancing these values in mediums of deprived origins, such as cat's eyes, shoe soles, lighters and other personal finds or accumulations, generating questions about the place of belonging. These are works that speak mainly of painting and how it expands in three-dimensional space.

I call this group "Whisky with Guaravita", because when I was younger, when going out with friends, I would fill a bottle with my father's whisky and buy the cheapest mixer on the street, which was a Guaravita. A mixture that has a contrast of value just like the paintings. They have similar colors and the mix is much better than you might imagine (possibly dangerous to drink too much).
Antonio Tebyriçá nasceu no Rio de Janeiro em 1991. Estudou Design na PUC-RJ e cursou a Escola de Artes Visuais do Parque Lage (EAV Parque Lage). Suas pinturas que dão vontade de “comer com os olhos”, nascem entre contrastes cromáticos e matéricos que dominam o espaço tridimensional sobre suportes variados: desde telas, achados da rua, até maços de cigarros.

Antonio Tebyriçá was born in Rio de Janeiro in 1991. He studied design at PUC-RJ and attended the Escola de Artes Visuais do Parque Lage. His paintings, which make you want to "eat them with your eyes", are born between chromatic and material contrasts, which dominate the three-dimensional space on various mediums: from canvas, objects found in the street, to cigarette packets.
