"Nessa série, equiparo o interior do corpo ao oceano. Interessa-me o fato de enviarmos sondas para dentro do corpo para observá-lo e entender o seu funcionamento, assim como são enviadas sondas ao fundo do mar. Ambos ambientes são repletos de mistério e provocam fascinação.
Possuo muitas imagens de exames endoscópicos e de ressonâncias que fiz ao longo da vida, que sempre me despertaram esse fascínio: tentar entender algo visceral, muito interno, escuro, e, por isso, primevo." - Mariana Rocha
["In this series, I equate the inside of the body with the ocean. I'm interested in the fact that we send probes into the body to observe it and understand how it works, just as we send probes to the bottom of the sea. Both environments are full of mystery and provoke fascination.
I have many images of endoscopic examinations and MRI scans that I have taken throughout my life, which have always aroused this fascination in me: trying to understand something visceral, very internal, dark, and therefore primal." - Mariana Rocha]
