"Os tentáculos de um polvo são repletos de ventosas com grande poder de sucção, por onde eles sentem e tateiam o mundo. Para nós, humanos, seria o equivalente a ter centenas de línguas espalhadas pelos braços e pernas.
Buscando sempre as formas curvas, circulares, ovais e anelídeas, a língua se movimenta.
A pintura, iniciada em 2022, encontra sua forma final após a construção de mais camadas pictóricas. Deixo, porém, aberturas onde a versão primeira se revela - buracos, ventosas, pequenas línguas e bocas sugadoras." - Mariana Rocha
["The tentacles of an octopus are full of suction cups with great suction power, through which they feel and grope the world. For us humans, it would be the equivalent of having hundreds of tongues all over our arms and legs.
Always looking for curved, circular, oval and annelid shapes, the tongue moves.
The painting, begun in 2022, finds its final form after the construction of more pictorial layers. However, I leave openings where the first version is revealed - holes, suction cups, small tongues and sucking mouths." - Mariana Rocha]
