In the past, crossings-invasions established a power relationship between cultures, bodies and traditions vis-à-vis others. Roles were then defined: colonisers and colonised. Centuries later, relations between Portugal and Brazil are shaped by displacements motivated by political, economic and social issues. As a result, today the largest immigrant community in Portugal is Brazilian. In this work, I present how this relationship is currently unfolding, based on meetings with Brazilians living in Portugal, who told me about experiences involving xenophobia and racism.
