Embrião is a textile sculpture from the Imo series. The fabrics are sometimes sewn together or attached by pins, which makes the small-format work an object that, although apparently fragile - with flowery prints on soft, lacy materials - is not harmless, since the tips of the exposed pins are capable of hurting anyone who absent-mindedly touches the work.
The female stereotype is present, but it warns that it goes further, that it is bigger and more dangerous than it appears. The name Embryo already demonstrates the potential for symbolic aggrandisement, the tips of the pins present a threat and the stinging shape points to an aggressive aesthetic.
