Cápsulas de uma memória em trânsito - Cinzas do incêndio do Museu Nacional do Brasil simbolizam a efemeridade e a incapacidade de identificação destas memórias. Ainda assim, os restos desta história existem em matéria. Em “Amaáka”, Baniwa os guarda, protege e apresenta.
A obra questiona como cuidamos do nosso patrimônio - principalmente o de povos indígenas, de onde parte Baniwa - no mundo ocidental. Instituições aparentemente seguras e protegidas, ainda que burocráticas e coloniais, aprisionam estas realidades enquanto pouco as refletem.

The planting of the land of a fire - capsules of a memory in transit.
Ashes from the fire at the National Museum in Rio de Janeiro symbolize the ephemerality and inability to identify these memories. Still, remnants of this story exist in matter. In “Amaáka”, Baniwa guards, protects and presents them. The work questions how we take care of our heritage - mainly that of indigenous peoples, from which Baniwa originates - in the western world. Apparently safe and protected institutions, even if bureaucratic and colonial, imprison these realities while reflecting them little.
