[The series of paintings from which Cabeça derives stems from a dive into the waters within—an imaginary sea inside the body, where marine fauna can be equated with hair, skin, organs, and other parts of the human anatomy. There is a special interest in cephalopod mollusks (octopuses, squids, cuttlefish) and their viscosity and softness, as well as the freedom with which they cross the waters, their ability to camouflage themselves, attack, and defend themselves from their tormentors.]
