A série de pinturas da qual deriva Cabeça nasce de um mergulho nas águas de dentro - um mar imaginário, de dentro do corpo, onde a fauna marinha pode ser equiparada a cabelos, peles, órgãos e outras partes da anatomia humana. Há um interesse especial pelos moluscos cefalópodes (polvos, lulas, chocos) e sua viscosidade e moleza, bem como a liberdade com que cruzam as águas, sua capacidade de se camuflar, atacar e se defender de seus algozes.

[The series of paintings from which Cabeça derives stems from a dive into the waters within—an imaginary sea inside the body, where marine fauna can be equated with hair, skin, organs, and other parts of the human anatomy.
