Na obra Sinta-se em casa, mas lembre-se que não está (2020), de uma forma mais abstrata, dou início a fala sobre o contraste de trajetos e de paisagens nos caminhos que levavam meu corpo e minha cabeça suburbana a locais mais privilegiados da cidade, e de como a própria mudança de estrutura, de arquitetura, de natureza e, claro, de população, causavam um estranhamento por rejeições específicas: preconceitos, racismos, elitismos. Lembro que ao ir às praias, tudo me dizia: lembre-se que você não é daqui, que você nem deveria estar aqui. Mas eu insisto. Cidade Subúrbio fala sobre ressignificar a tal rejeição, sobre ocupar, retomar e assumir uma cultura abafada, por vezes roubada, e dizer que as nossas belezas partem daqui sim! Ainda de forma abstrata, mas não tanto como na obra citada, em todos os lugares eu passei a perceber pessoas, imóveis, muros, sujeiras, limpezas, plantas, portões, automóveis, jeitos, comidas e tudo o que pudesse me levar a sentir que de fato essa casa também é minha, é nossa. Aqui eu reúno elementos característicos de ambos os lugares, do frango assado das farofeiras à desejada piscina de ladrilhos, do bougainville do quintal aos pisos chiques de imóveis antigos. Nesta pintura eu venho suburbanizar.

In the work Sinta-se em casa, mas lembre-se que não está (2020), in a more abstract way, I start talking about the contrast of routes and landscapes in the paths that took my suburban body and head to more privileged places in the city, and how the change in structure, architecture, nature and, of course, population, caused a feeling of estrangement due to specific rejections: prejudices, racisms, elitisms. I remember when I went to the beaches, everything reminds me: remember that you are not from here, that you shouldn't even be here. But I insist. Cidade Subúrbio talks about giving new meaning to such rejection, about occupying, resuming and assuming a smothered culture, sometimes stolen, and saying that our beauties start from here! Still in an abstract way, but not as much as in the quoted work, I started to notice everywhere the people, buildings, walls, dirt, cleaning, plants, gates, cars, behaviour, food, and everything that could make me feel that in fact this house is mine too, it is ours. Here I bring together characteristic elements from both places, from the roasted chicken of the farofeiras to the desired tiled pool, from the bougainville of the backyard to the fancy floors of old buildings. In this painting I suburbanize.
